Twitter’s decline?

April 24, 2007 By Dan Thornton

I’m still struggling to ‘get’ Twitter. I understand the concept, and why it might appeal, but I never seem to have the time, effort and inclination to push it any further than randomly updating my dull days. And seeing endless posts by the likes of Jason Calcanis and Robert Scoble have stopped inspiring me and started infuriating me. After all, how can I compete with a day spent acting with Josh Hartnett….

I know there are flaws with using Alexa as a detailed analysis, but as a general guide it seems to suggest Twitter may have peaked, and that maybe more and more people are starting to get overloaded… (The embedded image doesn’t seem to work, so either click on the blank rectangle above, or here, if you prefer)

Which is why, when someone suggested Social Networking as part of one of the brands I work with, I suggested a central database, which you could then select to syndicate out to other brands. So you might register on a film site, but by selecting your other interests when you registered, or by keyword selection, you could then get the appropriate tick boxes to syndicate your comment to the other sites you might have an interest in, without having to retype everything…
