Organising train travel and realising friends and fellow passengers are far more informative than the websites you’d hope would help. For instance, nowhere on the GNER website did it mentioned there’s a website to let you buy tickets online. Instead I took an unnecessary form into the station only to find posters advertising the service.

By comparison, understanding and purchasing an Oyster Card for the London Underground was pretty clear, simple and effective.

But the main thing has been starting my new role at Absolute Radio.

I’ve only been there a couple of days, but everyone has been incredibly welcoming, and I’ve already had loads of interesting and helpful conversations.

But the thing that really has stood out already is the belief everyone has. I wrote about why I considered belief is incredibly important, but you can almost physically feel it when you enter the building every morning. It definitely makes the commute worthwhile!
